One of the benefits of meeting Matt at Fort Lewis was the chance to see friends from our Army Comptrollership Program days at Syracuse University in 1990. Jim is the resource manager of the fort, and as we were touring their house, Matt remarked that the small sunroom off of the living room was about the size of his two-person barracks room. :-) Rank has its priviledges, as Matt is learning in the Army. Here, their daughter Dawn stands next to Mary in the front row. Cherie brought her doggie bag from the winery. |
Matt standing by his truck in front of his barracks building. While not much, it beats the heck out of the tents he'll soon be sleeping in in Iraq. |
And here Matt stands on the beach of the Puget Sound at Point Defiance near Tacoma. Soon he'll be dreaming of water and of cool weather. We'll keep this mental picure of you in mind while you're "over there," Matt. |

Well, that's itour visit with Matt in a nutshell. It holds fond memories that will last many years and help sustain us during his deployment to the mid-east. Best of luck, Matt! |
