Wine Tasting in Sonoita

When Matt drove up to Tucson to pick up Mel at the airport, Cherie, Linda, Jeanne, and I spent an afternoon tasting the wines of nearby vineyard wineries.

Callaghan Vineyards may not have the coziest tasting room in the area but they have the best tasting wines in Arizona. We started off there for a seven or eight glass wine tasting and bumped into Linda's friend Ray, who joined us for a couple of the wineries. From the left are Cherie, Linda, the winemaker Kent behind the tasting table, Ray, and Jeanne.

It's not often the photographer gets to join the picture, but Ray was nice to offer to get me in one, left. Run your mouse over the photo to see yours truly enjoy the wine.

Third stop was Dos Cabezas Winery, where we got tuned up for dinner in the restaurant next door

The last stop was Canela Restaurant. While we were eating dinner, Jeanne decided to call Matt at the airport to see if he was excited about seeing Mel again after a nine-month absence. She got her answer ... halfway through the conversation the phone suddenly disconnected when Matt saw Mel emerge from the plane.

The meal was delicious ... a great ending to an afternoon of sipping Arizona sunshine
